NAVY LEAGUE
THE DESTRUCTION OF CORRESPONDENCE. VISIT OP H.M.S. NEW ZEALAND. Press Association. DUNEDIN, February 7. At a meeting of the Otago branch of the Navy League to-day a motion was passed expressing gratification that the unsatisfactory state of affairs relative to the correspondence with the London office that existed for some time past was not due to neglect on the part of the Homo Office executive, and trusts that the steps taken to prevent a recurrence of the malicious destruction of the inward and outward correspondence of the Home Office will prove effective, and that the satisfactory relations formerly existing between the two offices will be completely re-established. Reference was made to the forthcoming visit of H.M.S. New Zealand. Members expressed the general belief that tho vessel would not visit this port, but there was a unanimous feeling that the opportunity of seeing her should bo availed of by at least some representatives of the school branches of the league. The executive proposes, if practicable, to send a contingent of boys and girls from tho primary and secondary schools to visit the battleship at tho most convenient port.
