Mr Mackenzie has been phenomenally successful both as an importer and breeder of Clydesdale Horses, a large proportion of the best breeding and show yaru horses (both male and female) _in the Dominion for many years past having at one time or other passed through ms hands. His Romney Marsh Flock (No. 19), N.Z.RiM'.F.B.) is without doubt one of the oldest established and best known in the country, having been founded in 1876 by a purchase of 100 breeding ewes in lamb from the famous flock of tho late Dr Webster. Since then only the best stud rams have been used, a large infusion of imported blood having been periodically introduced. The sheep have always been in very keen demand by Australian, South American and North Island-flock masters,, being splendidly wdolled and 6f the hardiest constitution.
