MOTOR CYCLING
The competition for the cup presented by Messrs Sutherland and Kankine for week-end events amongst the members of the Wellington Motor Cycling Club will be continued this afternoon, permission having been obtained from the Miramar Borough Council to hold a speed trial at Matai road. Miramar. The event will be run off in heats of three, firsts and seconds to compete again till the final is reached. Entries close on tho cou it/; at 2.30 p.m.. the first heat being decided at 3 p.m. On Sunday a run will be held to Waikanaej to meet the members of tho Manawatu Club, and on the following Saturday a side-car trial to Levin and return will take place. This is the first side-car trial promoted in New Zealand, and is exciting considerable interest amongst the owners of passenger machines. One of the conditions is that the passenger carried must bo a lady.
