WEDDING. McLEOD—BAMBER. A wedding of considerable importance at Fordell took place at bt. Andrew t, Church on Wednesday afternoon, wUcn Miss Clytie Anderson Lumber, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs ihomas A. Bam her, of Toa Moana, lordell, was married to Air Arcnibaid N- HcLsskl. Tho bride was given away by her | at her, and as the bridal party church “The Voice that Breathed oei Eden" was sung. Airs A. btuheilaud presiding at the organ. The Rev. J. D. McKenzie, assisted by the Lev. Mi Lvans. performed the ceremony. Ihe , gown was ivory satin, prettify draped with ninon, the transparent yoke cud sleeves being of silk lace. Her embroidered veil was caught with a spray of lily-of-fche-valley, and she wore a beautiful old-fashioned gold and deep blue enamel brooch, tho gift ot hoi late grandmother, and her bouquet was a, shower one. Miss Bessie Bam her (sister of the. bride) and Aliss Winnie McLeod (sister of the bridegroom) attended the bride. The fox-mer wore pale blue and white satin with draping of deeper shade in ninon, dark blue straw hat niched w-ith pink and blue tulle and rings of pink roses. Miss McLeod wore pale rose pink silk over blue, with transparent yoke and under sleeves of dewdrop cliiifon, the tunic caught at left side tvixii dusters of pink silk roses. Her hat was similar to Miss Bamsber's. Ihey both carried shaded bouquets, and with, their gowns forming rainbow tints. In© bndegjxxun/s gifts to them were a gold brooch and a silver watch, and to the bride a gold w-atoh. Air Jack Jones supported the . bridegroom, Mr Chamberlain, of Wanganui, being , groomsman. The bridal patty and guests, numbering about seventy, motored to Toa Aloaua, where afternoon tea was served in a large marquee. The catering was in, the hands of Dustin’s, Ltd. ihe floral decorations on the three large tables were large white daises and fancy grasses, a huge floral bell being suspended over the bride and bridegroom. The toast list was a long one. Mrs I’.amber (bride’s mother) wore a gown of royal blue silk voile with yoke and elbow sleeves of creme lace, and black and white crinoline toque and .ospreys. Mrs McLeod (mother of the bridegroom) wore petunia cloth, with rich black lace scarf and light grey hat and tips. Aliss Elsie Liamber, sister of the bride, was in white spot muslin and insertion gown, large light hat with ribbon loops. Airs C. Burr (sister of the bridegroom) wore a Saxe blue poplin piped in black large tagel straw in oyster shade with black ospreys. Mrs Gregor McGregor, delicate dove grey crepe do chine with mantle in black Spanish lace, black and white hat and tips. Mrs A. 0. Hardy wore a beautiful robe of silk voile in putty shade, richly draped with floral chiffon and quantities of tiny black buttons, over this was worn a champagne wrap in satin and largo black hat and pink roses. Mrs Calders, black shantung silk, large white chip hat draped in black lace and one large loose violet flower at side. Miss Irvine Dutch, blue voile with lace yoke and under sleeves, close fitting hat to maoh. Airs Deem wore black oharmeuso with transparent lace yoke and sleeves, long dove ostrich feather stole, and black hat and tips; Aliss McLeod, blue fancy ninon over white, large hat with deep red roses; Airs A. Sutherland, black crepe do chine richly draped and finished with deep silk fringe, tuscan straw hat and osprey; Aliss Sutherland, white silk gown, the folded drapings were of silk lace, light hat and flowers; Miss F. Sutherland, white corded velvet, tuscan hat with loops of shot blue ribbon; Mrs P. McWilliam, white embroidered gown, black hat and tips; Mrs Maurice Higgle, saxe blue poplin, light crinoline hat; Airs. Welch, black and white striped silk with overdress of black ninon, white hat; Airs A. Burnett, black gown, black hat and feathers; Mrs J. D. McKenzie, white embroidered linen, white hat with rings of shaded . roses; Miss L. Notman, dark green face cloth, burnt straw hat with autumn leaves; Mrs Curtis, forget-me-not blue gown with lace yoke, light crin hat wreathed with small flowers; Mrs I Beard, grey striped gown, black hat; Airs J. Jones, all black gown, black bonnet; Mrs Gus. Aitkon, grey striped voile, black hat and ostrich feathers; Airs G. Siloook, steel grey tweed, relieved with lighter shade in silk, gold straw hat and flowers; Mrs McMurray, black gown, black and white hat;' Aliss D. McMurray, creme voile, black hat with creme flowers; Aliss A. Cox, blue figured foulard, light lace hat and flowers. Among the gentlemen were —Mr Bamber, senr., Mr E. Bamber, Air A. O. Hardy, Revs, McKenzie, Evans, and \Velch, Messrs M. Higgle, Deem, Siloock, D. Jones, AloWilliam, A. Sutherland E. Sutherland, Burr, Curtis, W. Bamber, Harris, D. McLeod, Edgar, Sarjeant, Gregor-McGregor, J. D. AlcGregor (Westmere), W. Sarjeant, J. Harrison, J. Kennedy, Cunningham, and many others. Mr and Airs AlcLeod left by motor for Palmerston North, the bride going away in a dark blue gown, piped in pale blue, large picture hat with high silk loops.
