DROUGHT AT WHANGAREI

RESERVOIR MAY BE EMPTY ON SUNDAY. Press Association. * WHANGAREI, February t>. The continued spell of dry weather is assuming alarming proportions. The Borough Council issued a notice this afternoon that the water in the reservoir had fallen two feet since Tuesday. If there is no rain the waterworks engineer estimates that the reservoir will be dry on Sunday morning. As the drainage system is dependent on the water service, it will be thrown out of action if there is no rain. The weather is humid, the barometer steady, and rain is apparently improbable. The creeks are drying up fast, and matters are serious.
