QUEENSLAND FLOODS
HALF A MILE OF COUNTRY COVERED. BRISBANE, February 6. There have been unprecedented floods at Mareeba, a mining centre in Cairns, six feet higher than any previously ••<■- corded. The river broke its banks and covered the country for half a mile, houses being inundated. The pumping station at the State Works was wrecked and the Courthouse at Biboohra flooded.
