THE FATHERLAND

SPEECH BY KAISER “MORAL FORCE ENSURES A NATION’S FATE.’’ (Received February 7, 0.20 a.m.) BERLIN, February 0. The Kaiser and the Crown Prince attended the opening celebrations of the centenary of the war of liberation at Koenigsberg. The Kaiser recalled the inspiring memories of 1813, which showed that it was not prosperity nor warlike laurels, but moral force that ensured a nation’s fate in the future. Universal military service had given the Fatherland its present prosperity. If necessary to extend the principle, the people would be prepared to make further sacrifices.
