UNIVERSITY APPOINTMENTS
IN WEST AUSTRALIA AND SYDNEY. LONDON,. February 4. Dr Bakin, of University College, has been appointed Professor of Biology, and Professor WiUsmore, of Melbourne, Professor of Chemistry at tho West Australian University; also tho following as lecturers: Mr Leoontoux, of Melbourne, mental philosophy: Mr' Huddard, of Paris, French and German: Mr Wood, of Aberdeen, classics. SYDNEY, February 6. Dr Anstruthor Lawson, who is to occupy tho new Chair of Botany at Sydney University, has arrived.
