WELSH CHURCH BILL
GLEBE LANDS AMENDMENT DEFEATED. OPPOSITION CRIES: “DROP THE BILL.” LONDON, February 4. At the report stage of the Welsh Church Bill in the House of Commons, the amendment to leave all the glebe lands to the Church was defeated by 248 votes to 220. The result of the vote was greeted with Opposition cheers and cries of “Drop the Bill.”
