BETTING BILL
IN THE HOUSE OF LORDS. (Received February 6, 0.15 ajn.) LONDON, February 5. In the House of Lords the Betting Inducements Bill, preventing the publication of tipsters’ advertisements passed the committee sl&go. The Bishop of Hereford’s amendment was rejected extending the penalties to anyone writing or printing any betting coupon or list of odds. He stated that 325 large employers in Lancashire and Cheshire favoured the amendment, as betting om football was interfering with their work.
