FEILDING SHOW

AN ALL-BOUND SUCCESS. ASSUMES METROPOLITAN DIMENSIONS. The Feildiug Industrial, Agricultural mid Pjustoral Association's annual show was brought to a termination yesterday. The event was successful from every [ point of view, the weather van perfect, the attendance large, the entries a record, and the management splendid. Under these circumstances it goes without saving that the promoters wore delighted" with the result of the labours of the past year. In the early years of its existence the Feilding Show was looked upon by many as an unnecessary addition to events of the kind held m the Mauawatu, but there is no such feeling existing nowadays, and breeders of the highest class of stook have long since come to regard the event as one of the principal convincing grounds in the Dominion. Probably the early period of adversity has proved to bo the great factor behind tne present success of the association, for it welded the committeeand members into a •harmonious body, who always place the well-being of the association before personal interests. Seeing that this year's entries were drawn from tho principal studs of the North Island the Fcilding fixture may be said to have passed the borders from a district show to a Metropolitan exhibition, and present indications ore that tho scope of its influence will make an annual extension. The Hon. W. H. Herries was an interested visitor during tho day. Following is tho results of yesterday's judging: Best Weight-Carrying Hack, Mst*—G. Short's Scout 1, J. It. McDonald's Salopian 2, 11.
