The Remnexa will therefore not leave Wellington until Monday for Lyttelton with remainder of cargo from London. The Blackball Company’s collier Ngahere is to leave Wellington at übon today for Greymouth. The Komata, due at Wellington, this morning from Westport, will sail cU the return trip probably on Saturday. The completion Of the eastern wall at Patea is expected to be completed in a month if the weather and everything else is at all favourable. The chairman stated at the annual meeting of the Harbour Board that when the work was finished it might Jbe advisable to consider the erection of a light at the

The Canopus is now expected to arrive at Wellington on Saturday morning from Westport, via Gisborne. < After discharge in New Zealand the 'Finisterro will load wheat in Australia for the United Kingdom or Continent. The Government cable-repair steamer Tutanekai arrived at Wellington last night after having repaired the damaged cable between Wanganui and Wafcapuaka. The Queen of the South, which stuck on the Manawatn bar on Tuesday, got off and arrived at the Foxton wharf. She is undamaged. '•’lie vessel is due back here to-morrow morning. The Hinemoa finished cleaning the buoys at French Pass yesterday, and groceeded on to do the buoys in Peloras ound. She is due back at Wellington this afternoon, and will leave here at 6 p.m. cm Tuesday for northern lighthouses. . The auxiliary scow Echo arrived at Havelock on Sunday from Wellington, and sailed yesterday with a load of timber for Foxton. The vessel will afterwards load at Havelock for Gisborne. COAL FROM NEWCASTLE. The Koromiko is now definitely fixed to sail from Newcastle on Saturday coalladen for Wellington. The Wairnna is to leave Newcastle on the 27th instant for Wellington. KARAMBA BAR GOOD. Mr R. W. Gilbert, of the Karamea Sawmilling Company, Wellington, received a telegram from the captain of the steamer Kairaki, which entered Karamea yesterday morning, stating that although the tides were poor there was 15 feet of water on the bar and the channel was straight. The Kairaki is loading timber for delivery at Lyttelton for the Karamea Sawmilling Company. WARRIMOO FROM SYDNEY. About half-past 11 o’clock yesterday morning the Union Company’s steamer Warrimoo" arrived at Wellington from Sydhey direct, arid berthed at- No. 6, Queen's wharf. The vessel Sailed from Sydney at noon on Saturday, and had smooth seds ami light winds throughout the passage. Some heavy weather was met with by the Shaw, Sayill and Albion steamer Matatua, which came up into the stream from tho Fowdef Ground at Auckland on Monday night, after her paesage from London direct. Shortly after leaving the Homo port, a heavy south-westerly gale was encountered, and big seas were shipped. Operators in the Marconi wireless station in San Francisco said that a large hlimber of vessels caught the "Cali’s” “73.” Many acknowledgments were received by the station. THREE MILES OP STEAMERS. Three miles of giant cargo steamers, theit hulls filled with miUions of bushels of wheat, were riding at anchor inside the breakwater of Buffalo’s (U.S.A.) outer harbour on December 18th, forming one of the heaviest blockades of grain in the history of the port. In the inner harbour were twenty vessels, and a like number were expected from upper lake ports before tho lakes became icebound. The total cargo value of the fleet in winter quarters at Buffalo was estimated at 254,009,000. The 15,000,000 bushels of grain were to he transhipped at the rate of 500 to’ 1000 carloads a day during tho

winter and tho remainder will bo shipped by canal in the spring.
