FOOD TAXES
MEMORIAL TO MR LLOYD GEORGE. (Received February 4, 11.55 p.m.) LONDON, February 4. One hundred and fifty-five Radical M.P.’s have memorialised Mr Lloyd George hoping that he will take advantage of the present prosperity to reduce the present taxes on food, particularly sugar, on the ground that they fall on the poorest people, and that their removal would make free trade secure.
