NAPIER WOOL SALE
PRICES FIRM. Press Association, NAPIER, February 4. The third and last wool sale of the season under the auspices of the Napier Woolbrokers’ Association, was held today. There was a representative attendance of .buyers, and 7325 bales were offered, compared with 3725 at the corresponding sale last year. The bulk of the catalogue comprised dingy and seedy back country clips and lambs’ wool, not many bright or well-condi-tioned lots being submitted. Compared with the January sale this year today’s prices showed an improvement of id per lb medium fleece wools and'id to id in coarse. Lambs sold at par, the highest price being 12Jd. No American sorts were offered in fleece wool. Appended is the range of prices, the figures for the corresponding sale last year being given in parentheses: Medium halfbred, 9d to 9|d per lb (85d to 10id). Fine crossbred, 101 d to lid (9d to 9|d). Medium crossbred, 9id to lid (8d to arse crossbred, 9d to lOd (7d to BJd). Inferior crossbred 8d to 9d (6id to 7d). , , Pieces 6d to 9d (5d to 7Jd). Bellies, 6d to 8d (5d to 6Jd). Locks, 4id to 51-d (3d to 4id). Lambs, 7d to 12id (8d to 10id).
