Prince Lidj Jeassu has succeeded him. Abyssinia is a country of North Africa, and occupies a highland region S.W. or the lied Sea. After the defeat and suicide of King Theodore, in 13(18, Prince Kassa of Tigre assumed the chief power as Johannes 11. To bun, in ISS9, succeeded Menelik ID, King of Shoa, who was born in 18411, and was a U.C.Ii. and G.C.M.G- In Dune, 1903, he nominated Lidj Jeassu (bora 18KJ), son of lias Mikhael and the Emperor’s daughter, Siioagash. as his successor. In May, 1909, Lidj Jeassu was married to Princess Komanie (born 1901), granddaughter of the Emperor Johannes XL, and niece of tho Empress I’aitou. Two days alter tho marriage Lidj Jeassu was publicly proclaimed heir to tho Imperial throne.
