The AwahoUy which was bar-bound at Foxton, got out of. that port yesterday morning, and arrived at VVeUington at 6.30 o’clock last evening. She is to leave Here to-day for Foxton. Confirmation has been by the local agents for tho Shaw, Savill'- and Albion Lino of the cabled departure of the Tainui from Plymouth last Saturday afternoon. She is due at Wellington about March 19th. The Arahura arrived at Westport at 6 a.m. yesterday from Greymouth, and sailed for Nelson, Picton and Wellington at 7 p.m. She is duo hero at 9.30 o'clock to-night. Tne Kini, which arrived at Wellington yesterday afternoon from Greymouth, is to sail on the return trip to-morrow. Bannatyne and Co. advise that the departure of the Tyser liner Star of India from Wellington for London has been postponed tUI daybreak to-morrow. The Huruuui. due at WeUington today from Napier, will berth at tbe Glasgow wharf to complete Homeward loading. She is to sail on Saturday for London. The departure next Saturday night of tho Mararpa from Wellington to Lyttelton has been postponed from 11 p.m. to 11.45 p.m. for the convenience of - the New Comic Opera Company. The Shaw. Savill and Albion liner Mata tua, now discharging cargo from London at Auckland, is expected at Wellington next Tuesday or Wednesday., Bannatyne and Co. have received advice that the coastal steamer Rakiura is to leave Greymouth next Monday for Wellington. She will leave here on Tuesday o mext Wednesday for Grepmouth and Hokitika. The Haupiri left Onehunga at 4 a.m. yesterday for New Plymouth and Wellington. She is due here late to-night, and wUI sail at noon to-morrow for Pirn ton. Nelson, New Plymouth and Unehunga. The Kittawa left Wanganui, on Monday night for Westport to load for Lyttelton. Tho Union Company’s steamer Karamu left Lyttelton at 9 o clock last night for Nelson to load wool for Wellington. She is due hero on Friday morning. Captain H. W. Bold, of tho Kowhai, has gone ashore for orders, and Captain W. vV. Hendor, who has been on holiday has joined tho vessel. The Karori, due at Wellington this morning from Westport, is to sail on the return trip on Friday. Mr Whitefield, lately a cadet on the Dartford, who met with an accident at Dunedin, has almost completely recovered, and has recently passed examination for a second mate's certificate. The Kahu left Wellington yesterday to load rams at Picton for Napier and chaff for r,ast Coast. The vessel is due back at Wellington on Monday, and she will probably proceed from hero to Tarakohe to load for Napier and Gisborne. The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Turakina is at present fixed to soil from Wellington at noon to-morrow tor Plymouth and London via ports. Tho Maorikmd Company advise that the coastal steamer Breeze is now expected at Wellington next Snnday from southern ports instead of on Friday. She will sail on Monday for Wanganui. THE TITANIA ARRIVES. Captain F. Holm's recently purchased four-masted barquentine Titania arrived in the stream at Wellington at 6 o’clock yesterdav morning with a load of coal from Newcastle for J. A. Redpath and Sons. The vessel was subsequently berthed at tho Railway wharf. The run across to the Wellington Heads was made in nine days. The Titania experienced moderate south-easterly to westerly winds. Captain Holm has purchased the Titania for conversion into a hulk at Wellington for the Paparoa Coalmining Company. Much surprise was occasioned when it was known that such a fine craft is about to end her sea-going days. The Titania

Sho was built ,iu 1895 by Russell and Co., Fort Glasgow, Her principal dimensions are: Length, 210 ft; beam. 35tt 6iu; depth, 19ft sin; moulded depth, 21ft. NIKAU TO OVERHAUL. Tho Anchor Coinpany's eteamer Nikau is to lay up at Nelson to-day tor overhaul. Tiie Kaitoa will leave Nelson and Motueka today for Wellington in tho Nikau's running, and will leave Wellington to-morrow on tho return trip, 'llio Alexander will arrive at Wellington on Saturday from Nelson and Motueka, and will sail on the return trip in tho aiternoou. Tiie Nikau will resume commission next week. ACCIDENT TO FINISTBRRE, When entering the port of St. Vincent while on the passage down to Auckland from New York, the oil cargo steamer Capo Finisterre came into, collijiiQn with the steamer Alton, which was at anchor in the stream. At any time St, Vincent has a difficult entrance to navigate, but on this occasion there was half a gale blowing, and just after the Gape Finisterre got inside she was swept by tho wind and tea down on to the Alton. The vessels met bow on. The Alton had au anchor hanging over her side, and this served os a buffer to break tho impact as far os the stationary ship was concerned. On tho Cape Finisterre, however, some plates were stove in, and other damage done. After temporary repairs had been effected she was subjected to Lloyds’ survey, and aUowed to proceed on her ageWARRXMOO FROM SYDNEY. About midday to-day the Unnm Company's steamer Warnmoo is expected to arrive at Wellington from Sydney direct. The vessel will berth at No. 6 (inner tee). Queen’s wbarf. KENT SAILS TO-DAY. Tho New Zealand Shipping Companyadvises that the Kent is to leave the King’s wharf at 5.30 o’clock this morning for the stream, where she will complete bunkering. Tbe vessel in to sail this afternoon for London via Monte Video and Tenerifle. TYRONE LEFT HOBART. Last Saturday the F’ederal-Shire liner Tyrone left Hobart for Auckland in continuation of her voyage from Liverpool. She is expected at VVeUington on the X7th instant., WAIMANA LEFT CAPETOWN. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Waimana, which left London on January 10th, resumed her voyage from Cape-, town last Sunday morning, bound for Dunedin, and Lyttelton via Australia. PERTH FROM NEWCASTLE. The Melbourne Steamship Company's cargo steamer Perth arrived at Wellington at IRBS a.m. yesterday coal-laden from Newcastle. Tne vessel was subsequently berthed at the Railway wharf. She left Newcastle at 6 o’clock last Weinesday night and had moderate to light south-easterly winds till arrival. * Captain S, .lames (formerly of the Union Company's service)' is in command of tho Perth. His officers are: Chief, Mr T. Woolcott; second. Mr H, \V- Goertz; third, Mr R. C. Johnson; chief engineer, Mr B. Q. Measor: second, Mr R. J, Arjnitage; third* Mr'D. Cameron..
