CONSTABLE ASSAULTED
Press Association. PALMERSTON, February 3. Constable Doylo, of Shannon, was badly knocked ■ about on Saturday night, and is now in tbo hospital. Ho stated that he went to put a man out of the stables of tho Albion Hotel, when the man turned on him and fiercely assaulted him. The constable had a leg fractured and one eye badly injured. His assailant bolted, and has not yet been arrested.
