LABOUR CONFERENCE
' HIGH RENTS A BURNING QUESTION. A PAIR RENTS BILL PROMISED. SYDNEY, February X. At the Political and Labour League Conference feeling reference was made to the subject of high rents. It was announced that this would be a burning question at the Federal and State elections from a Labour standpoint. Mr Griffith, Minister for Public Works, in a speech, said that ho intended to introduce a Fair Rents Bill and establish model workers’ suburbs. The conference passed a resolution in favour of a cessation of restricted immigration.
