ALLEGED ASSAULT
MAN COMMITTED FOB TRIAL. Following upon a disturbance which occurred at a hotel in the city on Monday night last, William John Hogan was charged before Dr A. McArthur, 8.M., at tho Magistrate’s Court yesterday with having assaulted George Marvin so as to cause him actual bodily harm. Mr C. Goulter defended accused, who pleaded not guilty. Dr Pollen gave evidence as to treating Marvin for a wound near the right ear, and ordering tho man’s removal to tho hospital. The police alleged that Hogan struck Marvin with a beer glass. After hearing evidence his Worship ■committed accused to the Supremo Court for trial. Bail was not asked for.
