STORE BURNED OUT

Press Association. DENEIUM, January 31. A store and dwelling owned by Mr L. Spooner and occupied by Mr J. Carman, in Pergusson street, St. Kilda, was destroyed by fire this morning. Mr Carman was awakened a little after 3 o’clock by a noise of something falling in his bedroom, and found the nouso on lire. Tlie flames had so strong a hold that it was necessary to remove the children through a window. It is supposed the fire originated from a caudle which was left burning. The furniture and effects were insured for ,£IOO and the stock for £45.
