MOTOR CYCLING

The Wellington. Motor Cycling Club will continue the competition for the Sutherland-Rankine Cup by holding a potrol consumption test tins afternoon. The ■ competitors will assemble at Sutherland and Rankine’s garage at fi.3o p.m. for the purpose of haying their machines weighed, filled, and sealed, and will then be dispatched singly over a course which includes Karori, Makara, Ohariu, Johnsonville, and Ngahauranga. a distance of about twenty-five miles. The measuring of the petrol used will take place immediately after the conclusion of the trial, and tho results worked out by a formula which takes into consideration tho amount used, weight of machine rider, and the distance ridden. The machines will be divided into two classes, up to and including 600 c.c. and over 600 c.c.
