(By “Eileen.") January 31. Mrs Frank Moffitt and family have returned to town from Kai Iwi beach, where they have been spending the holidays. Miss Harbro (Wellington) has been visiting friends in Wanganui. Mrs Kercher, Kanaka Bay. Wellington, is visiting her sister, Mrs G. Caiman. Mr and Mrs David Murray (eenr.) have returned from their trip to England and Scotland, and are visiting Mr Murray’s family here. They leave shortly for Hamilton. Mrs Kaganski (Duri Hill) is spending a fortnight in Wellington. Miss Maud Brewer (Waverlev) is the guest of Mr and Mrs C. H. Chavanues, senr. Mr and Mrs H. Y. Lethbridge, Turakina, were in town during the week. Dr and Mrs Wall have returned from their holiday. Mrs Lundius (Gonville) is visiting friends at Lyall Bay, Wellington. Miss Richmond (Auckland) was in Wanganui for the holidays. Mrs J. G. Swan has returned home after an enjoyable month's holiday. Ur and Mrs W. M. Ashton have gone into their new home at Carlton. Mrs Stewart (Palmerston North) has been spending a holiday with friends in Wanganui. Mr and Mrs W. J. Treadwell have returned to the hill from the beach. Mr and Mr» Hath, are taking « holidu* at Ilotorua. Mr and Mrs Johnston (nee Miss E. McFarlane) have returned to Wanganui. Mr and Mra Armour have returned Irom their trip to tho south. The New Zealand Swimming Association hold their championship meeting in Wanganui, commencing Monday next. It is to be held in the D.H.S. bath. The Wanganni Musical and Dramatic Society have decided to stage “The Geisha" early in the year. The first practice took place on Thursday evening, when there was a big attendance. It is nearly nine years since the society have staged an opera, the last beintr ■‘Kip Van Winkle." . s
