PREMIER’S REPLY TO LABOUR LEAGUE.

SYDNEY, January 30. The Premier (Mr McGowon) does not consider the motion regarding the Newcastle ironworks as one of censure. It merely affirmed that the arrangement was in contradiction to Labour’s ideals.

The New Sbuth Wales Political and Labour League Conference invited the Premier (Air McGowon) to explain wby the Government had passed an Act assisting the Broken Hill Proprietary to establish iron and steel works at Newcastle; The explanation was considered unsatisfactory, and- the conference, by lOi votes to 42, carried a vote of censure on the Government.
