Gregory, section. 56, Pahiatua West V.&. This was an application for rehearing of the transfer, and it was resolved to adhere to the former resolution not to grant the transfer. J. Take to Mrs G. M. Hall, section 13, .block 9. Makotuku; This was an application for rehearing of transfer, and it was decided to adhere to the former resolution carried by the board. ■ Mrs G. W. Anderson to A. B. R. lalenski, sections 13,12 a, block 14, Maungakaretu.—lt was decided that consideration ho deferred until'a medical certificate has been received that the lessee is unable to reside on the section. Mr Gawith appeared in support of the application, and it was resolved to approve of it provided a statement as to the position of the transferee is Tiled and found in order. W. H. Y. Gibbs to Alfred Grigg, section 3. Ohakune V.S.—This was approved under the circumstances that the applicant had left the district. O. E. Wildbore to H. Hanson. Yearly tenancy of sections 55 and 59, Nireaha V.S. The proposed transferee asked for a lease for a longer terra. —This was approved. With regard to the application of H. Burling, iun.. to transfer section 6, block 3, Puketoi, to B. Thomas, the selector having given notice of his intention to purchase the fee-simple of the' lands, the board decided to take no further action.
With reference to the proposed transfer from T. and E. J. AVilkinSon to T. Wilkinson of section 7, block 5, Alanganui. which was before the board on July 27th, 1911; but which had not been completed, Sir G. It. N. Wright waited bn the board in support of an application from T. Wilkinson jhat payment of the rent conceded under section 127 of the Land Act, 1908, be not demanded owing to peculiar circumstances in which Ills client was situated. —It was resolved that tho transfer be recommended for favourable consideration under the exceptional circumstances without the payment of the rent conceded being demanded. Mr Petherick waited on tho board regarding tho transfer .Of part section 3, block 8, Makotuku, from E. T. Broadbelt to G. H. Jackson. —It was decided to defer consideration till next meeting. The Public Trustee as administrator in the estate of Wm. Matheson (deceased) applied to transfer lot 4, section 1, block 14, Mangahao, to J. E. Wade, and it was decided to approve of tho application under tho circumstances.
Mra. B .A. Pilbrow and P. B. Tilyard applied to transfer sections 13 and 25, block 9, Huangarua. to E. A. Pilbrow, and A. Pilbrow.—'This was approved, Mrs B. A. Pilbrdw and E. E. Tilyard applied to transfer sections 16 and 29, block 9, Huangarua, to It. Galyer; also section 30. block 5, Huangarua, to same person.—This was also approved. Other applications to transfer were dealt with as under; .H. O’Donnell to W. A. Forder, section 2, block 2, Waipakura. Mr Curry appeared in support of the application, and it was resolved to grant it. Mrs E. T. Scally to Mrs A. M. Goddard, section 24; block 4, Mangahao.— It was resolved to approve of the application.
John Carr to John Carr arid W, Ihvyor, section 9, block 9, Kaitioke.— Recommended for approval. C. O. Hanlon, to F. G. Karam, section 5, block 4, Tiriraukawa. and section 30, block 16, Mauuga Karctu.—lt was resolved to inform applicant that the proposed transferee can hold only one of the sections, and therefore the board declined to grant the transfers, as the proposed transferee was ineligible. W. Wearing applied to transfer his interest in part of sections 124, 125, and 270, block 7, Ibitara (Anchmore settlement), to T. M. Remington, and it was fcsolyod that provided the transferee is legally eligible to hold the lands the application bo granted. Mrs Margaret Morton applied to purchase for cash part of Maunga Karetn, No. 4b, block 5, and it was resolved to recommend the disposal of the land to her (about 187 acres) under tho provisions of section 129 of tho Land Act. 1908, at the capital value of .£558. The following applied to transfer, and it was resolved to approve on the usual conditions t Mrs C. I). Storey to W. H. Moxham, section 25. Horowhenua V.S.: A. H. Wickie to Mrs M. E. Melody, lot 24, of section 7, block 8, Makotuku; Mrs 11. J. Morris to Mrs L. D. Harrison, lot 4, of section 7, block 8, Makotuku. FREEHOLD REQUIRED. Tho following applied to convert the tenure to freehold, and it was resolved that the applications be. granted; E. Anderson and C. S. Roberts, section 7, block 1, Ruahinc; J. Klllalca and J. Keville, section 5, block 10, Makotuku; in this case it was also resolved that the resolution of July Ist, 1910, forfeiting the interests of tho licensees for non-residence bo rescinded, and that Mr Keville be released from his bond dated September 12th, 1910. James Wright, section 25, block 1, Aohauga; the Mayor, councillors and burgesses of the borough of Taihape, section 55, block 14, Ohinewairua. SUBLEASES. C. A. Kerr, junr.. applied to sublet sections 1. block 6, and 15, block 5, Aohanga, to J. J. Sorenson for a term of four years from February Ist 1913 4 and it was resolved to approve of tho application. W. C. C. Birch applied to sublet sections 32, 33, Taihnne suburbs, to Messrs Abraham and Williams. Ltd., ft>r a term of five years from December llth. 1912, and it was. resolved to approve of .the request. Tho Public Trustee, in the estate of W. Cameron (deceased), applied to sublet 107 acres of section 12, block 3, Ilautapn. to Mrs Mary Cameron for five years from ,February Gth. 1912. and it was resolved to approve uf the appnra- . tlon subject to a statement of tho land
held by the transferee being satisfactory. Al. Ouirke applied to sublet section 63, Pahiatua West V.S.. to E. N. Gorkin tor two rears 11 months, from December Ist, 1912, and it was resolved to approve of the transfer on the same conditions. M ISC E LEAN EO C S IT EAIS. The board considered the manner of disposal of the lease of the pastoral run at present occupied by C. Carlson, in the Raketapauma block, and it was resolved to offer the lease for five years at public auction at an upset rental of TloO per annum. Referring lo the hoard's resolution of April 25 th, 1912, as Major Tunuidrangi s temporary permit to occupy Hnrupi block will expire on January 31st, 1913, it was resolved lo allow hiny to remain in occupation until the laud is required, on a 'monthly tenancy at the present rental.
E. 11. Johansen having applied for an alteration in the date from which tt is proposed rent shall commence for his occupation of Maugatoinoka 4, Nos. -b and 2c., namely, from September Ist, 1912, instead of December 21st, 1911, it was resolved lo adhere to the latter date, but to grant him an extension of the lease until March 31st, 1913. With reference to L. Natzke’s application, for lease of section 23, block 4; Hautapu, 3 acres 2 roods 12 perches, it was resolved to grant him a temporary lease in terms of rangcr’e report. The Levin Borough Council submitted proposals for the expenditure of accrued thirds amounting to 18s 3d, and it was resolved to approve subject to investigation by the ranger. The Commissioner reported the completion of survey of the Whakaihuwakii block into areas ranging from 4113 to 1530 acres; and it was resolved to. Offer on the optional system under part 111. of tho Land Act, 1908, such sections as are "available tor disposal at the prices .fixed by tlio ranger, excepting section 9, block 4, Alomohaki, which is to bo offered on renewable lease with a recommendation that the lands be, exempted from rent ami general rates for four years, Air Ellingham said that some notice should ho taken of the position of other settlers whoso holdings had been loaded for roads which, had not yet been constructed. With reference to the timber on section 42, block 11, Ohgo, offered for sale on November 27th, 1912, arid, not disposed of, Air Ellingham moved and Mr Georgetti seconded that grazing be let fot the same term, provided the commissioner can arrange accordingly, this was carried.
Schedules of sections in Raetihi township extension Nb. 1, were submitted, and it was resolved-to approve bf tile lots being offered for cash by, public auction at the upset prices as per schedule at Raetihi.
E. L. Borhnrent renewed his applifcation to bo allowed to surrender his lease of section 3, block 1, Mangaweka township, and it was resolved to decline the application.
The ranger reported having resumed possession of section 2, block 1, Hnnud, 293 acres, and submitted valuations. It was resolved to .approve of it bejng offered under part 3 of Hie Land Act, 1908, in terms of the ranger’s report, weighted with improvements valued at -6563; Tho Eketalniha County Council , forwarded proposals for expenditure, of accrued thirds amounting to ,19s, and it was resolved to approve subject -to investigation by the ranger. , , Tho Maugawhero Hoard Board applied to have the thirds from section 1, block 16, Tauakira, hypothecated, and it was rbsolved to approve subject to investigation, by tho ranger. ■With reference to the application of C. Slight for a longer lease Of sfefclibii 45, block 2, Paekakariki, than a year tb year tenancy, it wad resolved tb grant a lease fur five years upon tab same terms as the present tenancy under section 130 of the Land Act, 1908.
G. H. Stnpples applied to purchase, an old shed on tho llall-Jones estate, find the commissioner reported that he had authorised the successful tenderer for the grazing’of lot 1, S. W. Norrish; to convert the outbuildings into cowehfedl. It was resolved to approve bf the coriimissioner’s action in the matter.
Sirs C, A. Prouse having intimated that she does not desire a renewal Of her lease of Education Reserve, section 1, block "16, Levin towfiehip, it was resolved to reoffer the land for selection by. public auction, weighted with the value of her, improvements at the Upset rental fixed by the ranger. As H. H. Wardell 'b leaese of resumed small grazing run 53; blocks 13 and 14, Kewa, 1210 acres, expires bn February 28th, 1913, it was resolved tb giant him a temporary permit to occupy from that date for. a period of twelve months at a rent at the rate of 222 18s 2d nex month. The following Beiectprs. had,, failed tb comply with the conditions of lease, and it was resolved, to .take the action hbted in each case: P. S. McLean, sectibn 13. Ohakune V.S., lion-residence, no improvements. The board decided tho land should be forfeited- I'. H. McLean, Section 15, ‘block 19, Ohakune. V. 6., nonresidence, no improvements. .This Section was also forfeited. W. If. G. Foster and Mrs E. A 4. COcks; section 6, block 1, Kaitieke, non-residence, but resides on adjoining section 7,. block 2, Kaitieke. An explanation by the -tenant was accepted as satisfactory. Mrs 1. J. Raynel, sections 1 and 2, .block 16. Horbpitb West V.S-, resides on her husband’s section 8, block 10, Manganui. It Was decided to ask Airs Raynel to show cause why tho section should not be forfeited. T. AlcCowbrie, section 14, block 9, Makotuku. resides on adjoining section held By his son. The explanation bf the tenant' was accepted as satisfactory... V. M. Waldegravc, section 1, block 11, Kaitieke, does not appear to reside permanently. It was decided to notify the lessee that the board required him to show cause why his interest should not bo forfeited.
A re-survey of the south-western boundary of section 47, block 12, Mount Cerberus, having been made defining a better fencing Line, and the licensee T. J. \Vhitta having applied for an alteration in the boundary conforming to . the new survey, it was iesolved that the license be called hi and amended accordingly. A declaration of the loss of license by Frank D. Allen., section 3, block 10, Tauakira, was received, and the sary procedure having been carried out* it was resolved tt> issue a new license arid on the same terms and conditions under tho provisions of section 94 of the Land Act, 1908- . ■ With regard to the tenure -upon which the Messrs Olsen Bros, be allowed to select part of section 5, block 3, Fuketoi, as a homestead site, it was resolved to give them tho option of an o.r.p. license or a cash purchase. It was resolved to offer section 5. block 12, Whirinaki, 910 acres, on optional system of the Land Act, 1903, in terms of tho ranger’s report, to be classed as ‘‘heavy bush" land, with exemption from rent and rates for four years, it was resolved to approve of the undermentioned Crown lands in Ohiro being offered tor cash, by public auction, at the fob lowirtg upsets: Lot 1, 6 acres 2 roods 27 perches, 030; lot 3, 5 acres 3 roods 8 perches, <235; lot 4, 5 acres 0 roods ? perches, .£35; lot 5, 6 acres 1 rood 31 perches. ,£BS; lot 7, 5 acres 3 roods 11 perches, .£BO. It was resolved to approve of the application of Jess Tyler for permit to cut firewood on the road fronting sections 4 and 5, block 3, Puketoi, at a loyalty of 2s per cord. \V. Smith apjdied for license to mill dead timber on Crown land on each side of the main road, between Waiwarmo. railway station and spiral over-head and it was resolved to approve in terms of ranger’s report. H. Kelly applied for a license to split green bush south of Waimarino Plains, and it was resolved to decline the application. .1. 3-hder applied for permission to plough 10 acres of section 5, block 1, Ohinewairua, held -by him under temporary license, and it was resolved to grant the request.
