Times.” Sir—ln the report*; .you published concerning the sittings ot the above body gome points were, to me, somewhat obscure, and 1 venture to ask whether any of your readers can answer ihe lollowing questions: (1) is, or was, "The Federation of Labour” a federation of unions or individuals, and how many adherents does it number? , „ , (2) Are there other federations? tor Instance, is tho "United Labour Party one? And how many adherents lias it. (3) Is there any federation that embraces all unionists in New Zealand? 1 think that we cannot properly know what weight to attach to the published in your issue of the 2rth until wo know what numerical backing it has. Part of tho "platform” is there defined as “to take possession of the earth and abolish the wago system. Most people would suppose this is Socialism.” but I presume the Labour world knows that “Socialism is tar as the poles apart from the ideals of tho Federation of Labour. —I y
