HEAVY LOSSES OF SUGARCANE
GROWERS
BRISBANE, January 29.
German sugarcane growers at Baffin Creek have been heavy losers by floods. It rained for forty-eight hours so fiercclv that it was impossible to seo ahead at midday more than a few yards.
Twenty miles of country has been inundated, and crops worth £SOOO destroyed.
