In the House of Lords, Lord Grey, in the discussion on the Homo Lule Bill, said that as a convinced Federalist lie strongly opposed the Bill. Ho preferred that Ulstermen in the northeast of Ireland should be given selfgovernment similar to Ontario, and the Nationalists in the west and south the same rights as the men of Quebec. It was imperative in the Empire’s interests that the question sheu.d be settled on those linos, which were satisfying to democracies, the self-governing colonies, and the United States,
Lord Dunraven said the Bill ivas incompatible with Imperial federation, and would not impose an adequate check on the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
