The outward San Francisco boat, the Union Company’s Tahiti, is expected at Wellington about 6 o’clock this morning from Sydney direct. The Tahiti will berth at the Glasgow wharf, and is to sail at 5 p.m. to-morrow for Rarotonga, Papeete, and San Francisco. The Waimca is expected at Wellington on Saturday from Wanganui. The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company received advice that the Remuera arrived at Hobart at t a.m. yesterday from London and Flymonth via Capetown. The Federal-Shire liner Westmeath arrived at Auckland at 10.45 a.m. yesterday from Liverpool via Australia. She is to leave the northern port on Monday and is duo at Wellington next iThursday morning. The vessel will discharge about 3500 tons of general cargo at Wellington, and will sail next Monday week for Lyttelton and Dunedin with remainder of cargo. ' THE EGBERT E.. HIND. No time is being lost at Lyttelton in discharging the cargo of Oregon pine from the American schooner Eobcrt- B. Hind (says "The Press")- It was not until Tuesday morning last that a start was made to unship her big deck cargo, and from that time until last evening the work was carried out as expeditiously as possible with the result that only a few thousand feet of timber remains to bo lifted from her deck. Up to noon on Saturday about 250,000 ft of timber had been hoisted by the vessel's own gear into the trucks, and considering this was the outcome of four and a half days' work, the result is very satisfactory, and one well up to past performances. It is expected that the vessel will complete discharge about the end of this week or early next week. Her destination is not yet finally fixed, but in all probability it will be Newcastle. It is reported that as the outcome of the severe buffeting along the American coast the Eobort E. Hind has been strained somewhat, and is consequently leaking a little. MOANA FEOM SAN FRANCISCO. Anchor was dropped in the stream at Wellington shortly before 2 p.m. yesterday by the Union Company’s steamer Moana from San Francisco via ports. Pratique was granted, and the vessel berthed at the Taranaki street wharf. The Moana passed through Wellington on December 6th and arrived at San Francisco on Boxing Day. The Homeward trip was commenced at 7.30 p.ra. on January Sth. The wharf was cleared at 11 a.m., but owing to the overland mails being late the vessel was delayed till the evening. The Moana had a large freight and passenger list. Papeete was reached on Sunday, the ISth instant, and Rarotonga on the 22nd. The Moana loft tho latter place at midnight on the 23nd. Fine weather and calm seae prevailed till two days before arrival at Wellington. A heavy south-westerly gale with high head seas, rain and sleet lasted till rounding Cape Palliser yesterday morning.

Cricket and deck games were freely indulged in by the passengers, and several concerts were held. The vessel lands a quantity of general cargo, 1200 cases of Californian oranges, also &S 4 cases of pearl shell from Papeete for transhipment to London. The Moana is to sail this afternoon for Sydney direct. THE MOERAKT, FROM SYDNEY. About 10.30 o'clock yesterday morning the Union Company’s steamer Moeraki arrived at from Sydney direct, and berthed at No. 1, north (outer tee). Queen's wharf. The vessel left Sydney at noon on Saturday, and had a strong southerly breeze and a heavy beam sea until arrival- The cargo comprised a quantity of fruit, and transhipments ex Morca, Attila, Omrah, Waldemar, Franklin, and Eendsburg, COMING FROM LIVERPOOL.
