The Burwood miners have declined to do wheeling. The conference with the owners, therefore, cannot be held until either the wheelers resume or the owners withdraw their stipulations.

The difficulty with the machine men at the, Pelawmaiu mine has been overcome, ponding reference to a tribunal. That tho position at the Maitland field is not reassuring is shown by the tact that the men are discussing how to prevent the removal of small coal in the event of a general strike.
