SYDNEY, January 27

A man was charged with riding on the footboard of a tram, and his counsel contended that proper notices were not exhibited on the tramcar, along the route, or at the terminus. Passengers, therefore, were unable to learn the by-laws. The magistrate upheld the point and dismissed the case.
