ARBITRATION ON TOLLS QUES-
TION.
PRESIDENT TAFT DEFENDS THE BILL.
WASHINGTON, January 26.
President Taft, in defending the Panama Canal Bill, says there is no reason for anyone to oppose arbitration on the tolls question. Nothing the United States had hitherto done showed where it had acted in a dishonourable manner. The Government was willing to test the case in any impartial tribunal.
