AUCKLAND. January 27

A fire at Opotiki on Sunday destroyed a block of buildings in Church street,' owned by J. C. Arthur and occupied by Thorburn (restaurateur and confectioner) and E. Parkinson (jeweller). The insurance on the building was £650 in the National office. Thorburn’s stock, which was a total loss, was insured for £l5O in the Liverpool, London, and Globe. Most of Parkinson’s stock was saved.
