WORKERS CONFER

INDUSTRIAL AND POLITICAL UNITY. DRAFT CONSTITUTION ADOPTKD. The conference convened by the Federation of Labour continued its deliberations at the "Maoriland Worker" offices on Saturday. The Hon. J. Rigg. M.L.C., presided. Tho official report «.f the proceedings is as follows: A telegram was received from the wanganui -branch of the Socialist party, congratulating the conference on its efforts to create unity. Attention was directed to a published telegram in the prees, and Mr Hickey moved: "That the attention of this conference having been called to a telegram appearing in the daily press re Mr McLennan being repudiated by the Waihi miners as a delegate to conference, it desires to point out that Mr MeLennan is accepted as a representative of organised Labour and not as the representative of non-unionists." This was carried unanimously. Tho committee appointed to report re industrial and political unity recommended that conference adjourn till 2 p.m., in order to permit time for drafting proposals. A motion to this effect was carried. "DESTROY MASSEY GOVERNMENT." Tn the afternoon the conference adopted unanimously the motion moved on Friday by Mr Boreham (Dunedin Trawlers) : "That with the lessons of the past year, written in the biood of our dead comrade before us, no effort should be spared during the next twenty-two months that will tend to bring about the political destruction of the Massey Government."
