SWIFTS CLUB’S CARNIVAL. BRICK WINS TOE CHAMPIONSHIP SPRINT. A bright fine afternoon favoured the fourteenth annual carnival of the Swifts Swimming Club on Saturday afternoon. The attendance of the public was disappointingly small, and muen below what was anticipated or the excellence of the sport merited. _ The club is to he congratulated on eliminating from its programme the senior ■soyds race —a wild cliaotic thing that is as distasteful and as uninteresting to tho spectators as it is popular among that class of speed merchant whose thoughts and aspirations do not travel he vend the limits of a single lap of the bath.
