SCHOOL GARDEN COMPETITION
Special to the “ Times.” WANGANUI, January 24. Mr Browne, of Hawera, one of the Wanganui Board of Education agricultural instructors, has furnished a report (in ills capacity as judge) on the school garden competitions held in connection with tho Peikling A. and P. Association. Tho awards are as follow : Poston, 195 points, I; Ruahine, 192, 2; Mount View, 182, 3. Then followed Ashhurst 177, Rangiwahia 174, Chelten. ham 166, Lytton street 161, Kelvin Grove 145. The best display of flowers resulted: Mount View 1, Poxton 2, Ruahine 3. Best kept diary—W. McIntyre, Rangiwahia, 1; Hazel Pearson, Poxton, 2; Hazel Ross, Rangiwahia, 3. In his report Mr Browne states that there has been a distinct improvement since last year, although some of the largest and best schools of last year did not compete.
