AT THE RACES
His Excellency the Governor and Lady Liverpool again attended the races on Saturday. .They arrived before the first race and stayed until the end of the last. Lady Liverpool wore a grey coat and skirt and wide black hat with a golden brown wing; Miss Foljambe, who accompanied her, was in a navy bine tailormade, and a smq.ll black hat with white feather; Miss Harcourt wore a pale blue tussore coat and skirt with delicate embroideries, and a grey hat with blue and grey shaded feathers; Mrs Gilkm_ was in whit© embroidered Indian muslin, and a hat with roses, and wore a long blue coat; Mrs Walter Johnston wore a coat and skirt of black crepe de chene, braided, and a black plumed hat; Mrs Baldwin was in a short blue and black taffetas costume faced with blue and embroideries, and a black hat with pink plumes; Mrs Godley wore navy blue, and a blue hat trimmed with violet; Mrs Lowry was in navy crepe do chene with silk fringe, and a wide hat with pink roses and ribbon; Mrs Heard, a black satin costume, and black hat with tulle and deep blue ribbon; Mrs Abbott, white muslin embroidered in rose pink, and a wide white hat covered with ospreys; Miss Handy-side, navy blue, with ted roses in her straw hat; Miss R. Levin, a grey costume, and hat with grey and bine plumes: Miss Russell, black braided coat and skirt, and hat with cerise, black and grey ribbon; Mrs Tweed, amethyst cloth and hat to match with plumes; Mrs Bucholz, black silk voile inlet with wide cream lace, and a cream hat trimmed with lace; Mrs S. Wheeler, a cream costume with silk coatee, and hat with crown of small red .poppies; Mrs K. Duncan wore an all white costume of crepe de chene, and a small white hat; Mise B. Watson was in deep fawn eolienne, and a black hat with fawn plume; Mrs E. Blnndell wore whit© mnalin and a red sash, and red roses in her hat; Miss Nancy Wilson, white embroidery and lace with a deep pink velvet waistbelt and a floral hat; Mrs B. Riddiford, navy costume, and smart black hat with black and* white ospreys; Mrs Vivian Biddiford, cream cloth costume, and black hat with vivid yellow roses; Miss Joan Hislop, navy blue satin coat and skirt, and white hat with yellow mount; Afiwi Roberts, grey coatnm© and floral hat; Mrs La Tfobe, blue and white striped costume, and hat wreathed with heliotrope; Mrs G. Pearce, black spotted white muelin and black and white hat; Mrs Miles, shot mauve silk costume, and straw hat with purple plumes; Mies Duncan wore a saxo bine coat and skirt of crepe de chene with embroideries, and a plumed hat to match; Mrs Pomano was in white silk with touches of black, and hat en suite; Miss Hosking. a cream coat and skirt, and hat with black feathers; Miss Rolleston (Dunedin), a navy suit and black plumed hat; Miss H. Miles wore crashed rose pink crepe do chene, and a hat with plumes to match; Mrs Wilson (Wanganui), grey rrinon made in pannier style with touches of blue; Alias McCosh Clark had a striking dress of apricot figured rrinon over satin veiled with grey chiffon, and grey plumes in her hat; Mrs T. Young wore green char-mens© trimmed with Honiton lace and draped with ninon. and green feathers in a hat of tagel straw; Mrs Tuxrell was in a grey coat and skirt and a white hat; Mrs W. Kennedy, a bine costume and hat en suite; Mrs Webster, navy tailormade and grey hat with blue feathers and pink roses.
