AUCKLAND HARBOUR DEBENTURES. (Received January 24, 10.30 p.m.) , LONDON’, January 2-1. The Auckland Harbour Hoard is issuing £250,000 worth of 5 per cent, twenty-year debentures of £IOO each, ABDUL HAMID’S MEMOIRS. BERLIN, January 23. The magazine “Nord ami Sud” lias published an instalment of the memoirs of Abdul Hamid 11., ex-Sultan of Turkey. _ The memoirs are strongly antiEnglish in tone, and the ex-Sultan expresses regret that Bismarck did not include Turkey in tho Triple Alliance. SHIPOWNERS’ MUTUAL ASSOCIATION. LONDON. January 23. A strong mutual association is being formed to insure shipowners against tbe risk of war and to prevent panic rates by spreading claims by subscribers.
