WAXROA, January 24. it an inquest on the body of Councillor Mclntyre, found in the Morore bush on Wednesday last, tho evidence showed that deceased bad gone into tho gully to fire Jogs, and in passing under a half-burnt rimu branch it foil, striking him on tho head. Death was probably instantaneous, sparing deceased tho agonies of the burning of the lower part of his body while pinned down. The funeral was attended by members and officials of local bodies in the district. DUNEDIN, January 24. Mr Thomas Nesbct Wilson, seventyfour years of age, an insurance agent, died last night at his residence, London street, from heart failure. GISBORNE, January 34. Richard Charles De Thierry, who drank carbolic acid in mistake for home-made beer on Tuesday, died this afternoon. WANGANUI, January 24. A man named Joseph Dickenson, aged sixty-five years, was found dead in his whare at Westmere this afternoon. Ho was engaged as a carrier in connection with the new reservoir. After unyoking tho horses at 5 o’clock ho went to his room, where he was found dead on his bed a little later. AUCKLAND, January 24. George Henry Allport fell from a load of chaif at Mangore and fractured his skull. He died at the hospital this morning. TTMARU, January 24. Tho boat in which Messrs Nicholas and Darby, tho two anglers who were washed out of the Kangitata river to sea, was found this morning between Uangitata and Opihi. There was no sign of the bodies, and the worst is now feared. It is now shown that the boat must have been swamped in the rough sea some time before the launch from Timaru arrived on the scene.
