Irish Jig. Entrance, Is. First prize, £2; second, £l. The Champion Caledonian Handicap. This event will be decided at three distances —IOO yards, 440 yards, and 880 yards. A first prize of £5, and second prize of £2, and a third prize of £l, will be given at each distance. Aggregate prizes of £lO, £4, and £2, will also be given to the highest scorers at the three distances; the scoring to be by points in the following proportion—first in either event 10 points, second 6, third 4. A fee of 10s. 6d. will cover the entrance to all three events, but the entrance fee for each single event will be ss. Rules and Regulations. Entries must be made to the Secretary, at the New Zealander Hotel, Manners-street, Wellington, as follows: Maiden Race; 100 yards, 440 yards, 880 yards, Caledonian Champion Handicap; Walking Handicap, and Hurdle Handicap, on or before Friday, the 19th December. Handicaps will be declared on Saturday, 27th December. Entries for the remaining events will be received at the Secretary’s office on the ground, on the day of the Sports. The races are open to all, and will be run under the rules of the Society. Nominators must state colors at time of entry, as well as their post office address. The time for receiving entries and acceptances will be strictly adhered to. No nominations will be received unless accompanied with the proper fees. Four competitors to start or no third prize, three or no second prize, two or no first prize. The decisions of the Directors, or whoever they may appoint, shall in all cases of dispute be final. No attendance on Competitors will be allowed under any pretence. In the event of the weather proving unfavorable, the Directors shall have it in their power to postpone the Sports from day to day. Sports to commence at 11 o'clock sharp. A first-class Baud will be in attendance. Admission —To the Ground, Is. ; Grand Stand, Is.: Children, half-price. J. W. KERRY, Secretary.
