The Provisional Directors will endeavor to induce the Government to grant to members of the Association such modifications of the land on deferred-payment clauses of the Land Act, 1867, as may facilitate cccnpati-m by bona fide settlers and subscribers without necessitating strict compliance with the present provisions of those clauses. The Provisional Directors will also endeavor to make provisions for ample reserves for religious, educational, recreation, and public health purposes, as suggested by the Minister of Lands to the deputation which lately upon the Government with the view of bringing this scheme under their notice and favorable consideration.

Each subscribing member will be required to deposit a sum equal to ten per centum of the total value of the share of land be applies for before his application can be entertained, and a further payment of two per centum per month on said total value until such time as the block to be applied for is acquired by the Association, and possession can he given to applicants, or until such time as the Association shall make arrangements with the Government for allotting land to the subscribers, provided always that such monthly payments of two per centum do not extend to a further period than six months from date of application.
