HISTORY. —When Victoria was a young Queen, and Prince Albert standing by her side,—she had on a light muslin dress and a large crinoline, —she fired the first shot at the first Wimbledon meeting of Volunteers. She hit the bull’s eye. Color-Sergeant James Huxley was one of her body guards, and so was James Symes, and Henry, the great rifle-maker, was in our squad. At that time Huxley was a prosperous foreman tailor, making the volunteer uniforms for three parts of the Volunteers of England, now he is only a Boss Tailor on Lambton-quay, Wellinton, making Suits of Clothes for £3 10s. and £4 10s., of the same quality that other tailors get £6 10s. for.
