AMENDED POSTAL REGULATIONS.

The following amended p-Ma! regulations have been made by an Order in (Jouncil, dated yesterday, a copy of which was kindly forwarded to us by Mr. Gray, secretary to the Post Office Department : SCHEDULE A. Letters posted within the colony, for delivery within the colony, if remaining unclaimed at the end of one clear month (instead of two month*, as at present), from the date of their receipt at the office of destination, to be forwarded to the Dead Letter Office for return to the writers. SCHEDULE B. Letters posted within the colony having the names and addresses of the writers written a> well as printed, or emboss-d on the front of or on the fly of the envelopes, if not claimed within one month to be returned unopened to the writers. SCHEDULE C. Letters posted within the colony having the names and addresses of the writers, or the business address of the writers, written as well as printed or embossed on the front of or on the fiy of the envelopes,, together with a request, written, printed, or embossed on the front ot the envelopes, that the letters may be returned if unclaimed within a given period, to be returned unopened, to the writers, in accordance with such request : Provided that this regulation, and the one immediately preceding, shall not apply in respect of letters originating at any hotel, club, or place of public resort, unless the name of the writer or sender appear on the cover : Provided also that no unclaimed letter shall be returned in the manner aforesaid unless it shall have been in a post office at least ten day^.
