The cable-repairing steamer Agnes did not get away for Sydney last night as was expected. She will, however. take her departure on the cessation of the north-west gale. , . _ The steamer Huia left Wanganui at C p.m. on Tuesday, reached Foxton at 9.45 a.m. on Wednesday ; sailed again at 7 p.m., towed the schooner Jane Anderson, bound to Dunedin with timber, over the bar, and arrived in harbor at 4 o’clock yesterday morning. The Huia sails for Kaikoura and Lyttelton this evening. , , ~ . The steamer Jane Douglas should arrive this morning from Kaikoura and Lyttelton. I he sailing of the steamers Napier for Blenheim. Wallace for Nelson and West Coast, and Stormbird for Foxton, was postponed till this evening in consequence of the north-west gale. The Union Company’s steamer Rotomahana. from Sydnov, via Auckland and East Coast ports, will arrive in harbor this morning. She sails again at 4 p in. for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. The steamer Wakatu from Wanganui and Nelson, should arrive hero to-morrow morning. She is advertised to return to the same ports during the afterllC Tho Union Company's steamer Wellington sailed for Manakau and intermediate ports shortly after 3 o'clock yesterday afterneon. The steamer Stormbird left Foxton at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and arrived here at 5.30 am. yesterday. She returns to the aanrs port this evening. The steamer Eangatira sailed at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon for Wanganui, Taranaki, and Manakau. The topsail schooner Falcon, with a cargo of railway sleepers, arrived from Foxton on Wednesday night. , _ T . The steamer Kennedy, from Nelson and West Coast, may be expected to arrive hero to-day. She returns to West Coast ports to-morrow.
