The steamer Rangatira broke down off the Sugar Loaves on the voyage from this port to Wanganui on Saturday. Tho Waltaki went to her assistance. TIMARU, Monday. The three-masted schooner John Watson has sunk nfF the shore to the south, supposed to be near Waitakl. All hands are saved. LYTTELTON, Monday. Sviled: Rotorua, for Wellington, Passengers: Messrs. Hardy, Hallenstcin, and Cunningham. The following vessels were in port lust night:— Steamers Samson. Agnes, Tui, Hinemoa, and Grafton. Ships—Raikaia, Wairoa, St. Leonards, and ?calandia. Barque—Malay, Three-masted schooners—Fllerton and Sophie ■ The steamer Manawatu arrived from Wanganui at 0.80 a m. yesterday, and was taken on tho Slip during the afternoon for usual cleaning and painting. She leaves for Wanganui to-morrow evening. The Union Co.'s steamer Kingarooma sailed for Melbourne and Hobarton via Southern ports at 2 p.m. yesterday. . Tho steamers Hula for Wanganui, and Stormbird for Foxton, took their departure yesterday evening. Tho Union Co/s steamer Rotorua will arrive this morning from Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. She leaves again at noon for Sydney via Auckland and East Coast ports. Tim steamer Jane Douglas got away for Kaikoura and Lyttelton at 7 o’clock last night. The Union Co.’s steamer Taiaroa left for Picton and Nelson shortly after 2 p.m. yesterday. She returns to port on Wednesday with the circus troupe. The Government steamer Stella sailed yesterday afternoon fui the Southern lighthouses with stores. Tho Union Co.'s steamer Hawea sailed for Napier, Gisborne. Tauranga, and Auckland at X o’clock yesterday afternoon. Wo omitted to mention tho arrival of tho topsail schooner Julius Vogel from Kaipara, with a largo cargo of sawn kauri timber, in yesterday’s issue. The steamer Rangatira is duo this morning from Wanganui, Taranaki, and Manukau. She is advertised to return to tho same ports this evening.
