The steamer Manawatu arrived from Wanganui yesterday afternoon, a-id returns to the same port this evening. The steamer Irishman, which formerly used to trade on tho Manawatu river under the nime of the Pioneer, was sold at Wanganui hy auction on Saturday last, under a writ of Jicre facias. She was knocked down at £225 to a Mr. A. Nelson. Tho brigantine Sophia arrived late last night with a cirgo of timber for Messrs, Stewart and Co. The steamer Stormbird crossed the Manawatu bar at 12,30 p;tn. yesterday; towed out the schooner Maggie Patterson, bound for Dunedin ; and arrived alongside the wharf at 11 o’clock last night. Tho schooner Endeavor, with a cargo of breadstuns for Messrs J. and T. Meek, arrived from Oamaru yesterday evening.
