MEETINGS OF CREDITORS.
A meeting in the bankrupt estate of Henry McArdle, police constable, Masterton, was held yesterday at the Supreme Court, Mr. Lewis representing -Tames McArdle, the petitioning creditor ; and Mr. Stafford the bankrupt. In consequence of the creditor having appointed himself trustee, Mr. Stafford advised the bankrupt to leave the meeting, which he accordingly did. At an adjourned meeting of creditors of J. Read, a resolution was passed that the estate should be sold for 2s. (Id. in the pound. The liabilities were stated at £2467, and the assets at £2506. There was a mortgage of £I6OO on the proportv, and the National Bank was secured for £l-45, Mr. James Smith for £l7O, and Messrs. Stevenson and Stewart for £lOl.
