The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following telegram, dated London, 25th instant : Wool.—The next sale commences on the 18th November. Up to date 70,000 bales have arrived. The market is firm, nearly all descriptions having advanced Id, to Id. per 10. The prospects of next sales are improving. Trade in the manufacturing districts is slightly
better, and there is considerable private inquiry. Home buyers are purchasing freely, but the Continental demand is limitv.l. Tallow, —Fair .speculative demand ; market firm; supply of town meltSvi light. Tnepublic sales of Australasian comprised 5500 casks ; P.Y.C. Is quoted oa the spot at 44-. per cw; mutton, 3ks. ; beef, 3Ss. porcwt. Wheat.—Market quiet. Adelaide, worth 59>. ; New Zealand, 575. per 4bulb. Leather,—Market firm. Best sides fetched Id. advance on previous rates : others unchanged. 7uoO Australian sides have been sold since last report. Stocks light ; basils, best) Is. 3d.
