MR. SHEPHARD AND HIS CONSTITUENTS.
■ (per press agency.) Nelson, Tuesday. The following is the address which was carried at the meeting of Mr. Shephard’s constituents! —“To Joseph Shephard, Esq.,M.H.R., Sir, —We, the undersigned members of your committee and other electors of the district, have seen with regret and astonishment that the first vote you have given in the House of Representatives is in direct violation of a distinct and emphatic pledge which you made to your constituents—namely, ‘ That you would support no Government of which Macandrew was a member.’ We, therefore, feel bound to inform you that you no longer have our confidence or respect, and we request that you will forthwith resign your seat as our representative in Parliament.” A committee was formed to canvass for signatures.
