She sails again for Sydney direct at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The steamer Samson, while assisting the ship Matilda yesterday, carried away the steering gear. She then made for Worser Bay, where temporary affairs were effected. She put back to harbor yesterday morning. The steamer Orctl sailed at 9 o’clock last night for Wanganui, Waitara. Taranaki, and Manukau. Tho steamers Tui ?n<l Manawatu, which wero detained from tho previous day on account of the wet weather, left for Wanganui at 8 o'clock last night. The steamer Stormbird went on tho Slip yesterday for her usual overhaul and cleaning and painting. The steamer Kiwi, from Napier and Castlepoint, should arrive early this morning. She is advertised to return to Napier and East Coast stations at 4 o’clock this afternoon. Tho sailing of the steamer Paten for Patea has been again postponed till 5 o’clock this evening. The New Zealand Shipping Company's sliipOrsri is expected to sail from Lyttelton for London towards the end of'this month. She has accommodation for a number of all classes of passengers, anil being the first Homo ship for some time, she should bo well patronised. The Union Company’s steamer Talaroa, from Picton and Nelson, will arrive in harhoi- this forenoon. She sails for Manukau and intermediate ports at 4 p.m. to-mnirow. The steamer Rotomalmna steamed up tho Yarrn ami hauled alongside the Melbourne wharf with the greatest ease. She leaves on Saturday for Port Chalmers direct. Tho steamer Jane Douglas left Lyttelton at. 5.50 p.m. on the 22nd, reached the Kaikouras at 5.30 a.m. yesterday, sailed again at noon, and arrived in harbor at 10 45 last night. Had light southerly winds throughout the passage. She leaves forFoxtonabl o’clock this afternoon.

Tii* ftovernracnfc steamer Hinemoa, from theMami* k.m with the Auckland members of Parliament, arrived in harbor at 8.30 hist night. She left again at 10 o’clock for Napier for the East Coast members, and should arrive in harbor again at noon to-morrow. The ship Matilda, which narrowly escaped a shipwreck on Barret reef, arrived ia harbor at noon yesterday.
