The topsail schooner Martha, from Greymouth, with a cargo of coals for Captain Williams, arrived hero on Saturday morning. The Union Company’s steamer Waitaki left Auckland at 1.30 p.m. an the 10th ; was off Taranaki at daylight next morning; got away again a few hours later, and arrived at Nelson at 1 a.m. on the I2tU; sailed at 2.15 p.m.: called at Picton, and arrived in port at 5.30 a.m. on Saturday. She leaves for Picton and Nelson at 3 o’clock this afternoon. The steamer Huia got away for Foxton at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The steamer Patea sailed for Patea at IX o’clock on Saturday. The Union Company’s steamer Ladybird left Auckland at 4 p.m. on the 9th ; called at Tauranga, Gisborne. and Napier, and arrived in harbor at 10 a.m. on .Saturday. She sailed South at 11.30 a.m. yesterday. The steamer Storrabird crossed the Foxton bar at 8 a.m. yesterday, and arrived alongside the wharf at B p.m.: had light wind to Mana, and thence strong from the N. W, She returns to Foxton at 5 p.m. to-day. The steamer Southern Cross arrived at 5 p.m.yesterday from Auckland and East Coast porta. She is advertised to sail for Lyttelton this evening. The Union Company's steamer Penguin left Pert Chalmers at 3.50 p m. on the 12th; reached Lyttelton it 10.15 a.m. on tlie 13th ; sailed again at 1.80 pm., and arrived in harbor at 1.45 p.m. yesterday; had •strong head wind and heavy sea throughout the passage. She leaves (or Auckland and East Coast ports at noon to-day. Messrs. Shaw. Savlll and Co.’s ship Halcione sailed for Napier yesterday afternoon, where she will load wool for London. The brig Neptune will probably sail for Newcastle to-day. Tlie barque Waimca was taken on the Slip yesterday for cleaning and painting, prior to sailing for Napier to load for London.
